I LOVE fall. I think its the most amazingly beautiful season! I love the colors, the smells, the weather....I don't think there is anything I DON'T like about fall. I mean, really, whats not to like? Apples, pumpkins, fun, family...this time of year makes me happy. Now, my dad once told me that he doesn't like fall because its the "season of death", where everything is dying. The leaves fall because they're dying, etc. I guess the way I look at it is that it was a life well lived. The leaves are brought to life in the spring and thrive all through the summer. In the fall, they are at the peak of their life, bringing color and beauty to everything around. I can only hope that my life will be that of a leaf...and that I will only get better and more beautiful and vibrant with age.

I took Bailey to the park after I got off of work today. I snapped a few photos and was pretty happy with the results. I do wish it was a bit lighter out so that I could get a better photo of the quotes above the bridge...I couldn't get one at all because of how dark it was. The other, had to be a close up shot because it was also too dark for a distant shot. Anyway, I also got to play with some of the different settings on my camera. I'm really still learning. I don't really get the aperture setting and I'm not really sure when to use/what to set the shutter speed for. But, I'm learning...So these were my favorite pictures from the afternoon.

Once, again, not much exciting going on in the Bolt home. But whether it was exciting or not, it IS the 5th day of my 365 so I need to post a photo. I realized today that a majority of my posts are going to be photos of my pets...probably 99% will be of Bailey. She is a huge part of our lives. We bought Bailey from some friends of ours. She is a AKC registered Golden Retriever and was born August 27th, 2007. Her "official" name is "Sweet Bailey Ray". She has been nothing but a blessing to us and keeps us constantly entertained! Tonight I was taking random pictures around the house trying to get one that would make for a good blog post. I got several of Bailey and one of the cats. I decided I wanted to try playing around with one. So my photo tonight is the one I messed with. There's an original and then the one I edited...I'm pretty happy with the results, especially for my first edit! Let me know what you think!!

4:365 Election Day.

WOOHOO! Obama has been elected! I'm not going to make this a political post but just wanted to put that out there.

I had an extremely busy day with work, school, and voting and the batteries in my camera went dead. So I didn't get any really great photos do describe our day but did get a few of Chris and the dog...so I'm going to post one of the dog where you can see the election coverage on the TV behind her. Oh, my cupcakes at work today were a HIT! Everyone loved them! Eh, I need to get to bed so I'm gonna get this posted...hopefully I get something better for ya tomorrow!

What a great day! I know its Monday and everybody hates Mondays...but today wasn't bad at all. My supervisor is gone for 2 days so work isn't nearly as stressful as most days. Chris got off at 3 today and got home at a decent time so we took Bailey to the park. It was beautiful! I love this weather! Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!! In addition, I made dinner - spaghetti and garlic bread. Then I made cupcakes to take to work tomorrow. In honor of Election Day, I thought I'd make some patriotic cupcakes...so tonight, I have a few different photos for you. The first, I'm posting is of the oh so cute and patriotic cupcakes that I'm taking to work tomorrow. The 2nd is my favorite photo from tonight. It just shows the love that Chris and Bailey have for each other...it made for an adorable photo op! The last picture is of Bailey. She was sooo excited to go to the park and was just WAITING for me to put her leash on. Enjoy!

Today was a VERY uneventful day. I overslept, skipped church, and then cleaned the house. I even cleaned the fridge out! NOTE: clean out the fridge more often so it doesn't get so bad!!! This afternoon, I stopped by my dads to visit for a few hours. I took one of the Caramel Apple Crumble Pies that I made on Friday. They really enjoyed it! I've been deemed the designated family baker...and I must say that I don't hate it. I really enjoy baking and I love when someone asks me to bake something. I mean, if they're asking me to, then they must like my baking, right? eh, anyway. Sorry my first couple posts have been pretty lame, I'm going to try to spice things up in the future. I guess this was just a pretty boring weekend to start this. Well, here are a couple pictures for the day. One is of my dad from tonight and the other is the apple pie that I made. mmmm...enjoy!!

Oh how Bailey loves the park...

We took Bailey to Kickapoo park yesterday. She loves going but gets worn out pretty fast when she's chasing the frisbee. She loves chasing it but I think she's scared to jump and catch it. We had a lot of fun...I love taking pictures of her!

Day 1:365

Everyday we take things for granted. Big things, little things, it doesn't matter how big or small. Lately, this has been happening to me more and more. I've taken my life for granted.

I was recently inspired to start a 365 project. Everyday for a year, I will post a photo that I have taken that day and hopefully a blog to go along with it. If, for some reason, I am not able to post on a particular day, I will continue to take pictures and I will post that particular days blog later in the week. My goal is to not miss a day though. My hope is that this project will open my eyes to the little things in life that I have been missing and allow me to appreciate all things in my life.

This is the site that I got the idea from: http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/

So....to get started........here is todays photo:

Bailey and Spot pretending like they have such a rough life. This is a favorite activity for both of them!!!
